Figure study. 18″ x 25″ charcoal on paper, May 2015.
This is Gene the Generic guy. I created this character so that I could experiment with various character looks without having to fully create a developed character. This Ninja look is the first of what is intended to be a series of drawings. The illustration was first done in pencil, then scanned and outlined in Illustrator with the colors and details done in Photoshop. I used a Wacom Cintiq 12WX Monitor Tablet. Not the greatest tablet. Kind of small. I just recently got the Wacom Cintiq 22HD and it is WONDERFUL! Hopefully I can get the rest of the series out soon!
These are a series of drawings I did on my iPad. The app I used to create these illustrations is Layers Pro on the iPad and using a touch stylus. I was playing around with the app and wanted to see how far I could push the app. I’ve also tried a couple of different apps for drawing on the iPad but so far Layers Pro is the easiest to use.
